Vented wing for cold air feed?

Its not needed Len, the tip of the filter is out of the wing and looking at the ground - not close enough to get wet but in open cold air, its perfection for a induction kit, i dont even need to use any cold air feed ducting

If you remove your wash bottle you will notice the big open space where you can see the ground -  looking down thru the bay - this area is not in the enclosed area that the engine undercover guards (if this makes sense )

in a nutshell, behind those lower bumper vents but its higher up to guard from rain etc

Yes but there is nothing (from what I can see in the photo) to stop it, also drawing hot air straight from the radiator?

its not possible to draw air from the Rad in the location its at

the rad is enclosed in on the mk3's anyhow, and the air filter is sat outside behind your indicators area.

My engine is also enclosed in too because iv fitted my full engine undercover which i had before (fits the S3 engine with only a very tiny bit of modifications)

Have a gander len in the corner behind your wash bottle behind your lights when u get a mo, u will see a open hole leading outside, the indiction kit is taking all the fresh air this has to offer

removing a lamp was one of my facve options but its really not needed

cheers for compliments guys too

I have been looking dont worry Brad!
I am going to have worse problems with the throttle bodies!
I do have to disagree about the fans though! They may well be enclosed but the the fans pull the air out into the engine compartment. Unless you seperate the filter completely you will be drawing hot air!
I am also looking at bonnet vents. As we all know from basic science hot air rises, so some vents one either side at the rear of the bonnet should help.

I too have the undertray and think that makes things worse as the hot air from rad can only join the heated air around the exhaust manifold.
