remover front silencer???

Am i better off removing the front silencer on my exhaust system to gain power increase or will this cause problems?? ( dashboard lights, increased wear and tear ) or is this a common mod

i only as because a miltek cat back system has a front silencer, however a jetex cat back system doesnt. . . . . . . .

I take it you mean replace a resonated centre section with a non-resonated?

There's no drawbacks to doing this apart from the extra noise! 

You'll do well to notice any gains, IMO.    You should reduce back pressure (which is good on turbo engines), but how much of a difference it will make 'on the road', I'm not sure??
