Bought my third golf today and I'm so worried I made a mistake!
The car is absolutely solid bodywork wise apart from a few expected age related marks and the front anniversary valance needs painting "properly"
Interior is excellent.... Everything works
Brakes need new pads on the front, suspension is good just a rear top mount if your fussy like me
Wheels are all good and rear tyres are near new
BAD POINTS....
I noticed 5 miles up the road that there was quite a lot of white smoke behind me
whilst I was on idle is when it's bad, I checked the oil over a 90 mile trip home on three occasions just to be sure. My girlfriend was driving behind me and said once I was driving she didn't see any, only at first, but when we refuelled I started the car and the smoke was there again! It's quite bad when it happens and smells both sweet and oily "more sweet" and there is a sporadic "oil sensor workshop" that flashes up when starting, 4/5 times.
The oil looks really new and the level was perfect there and back and the turbo was working perfect, I know it could be bad news but I thought maybe it is fixable so please give me some good news
