Spent a good while last night playing with the motor to get it running as well as I could.... Jamrock sent me a great "how to fix" link for the WUR which I have since posted in the Mk1 Maintenance section. Going to see if I can put it to use soon and sort mine.
Cannot get the inner CVJ sorted out properly in time for Volks Fest It's all cleaned up and done up very tight but running on 5 bolts instead of 6, the thread for the 6th appears to be shot and needs rethreading!
Did 30 miles of varied driving with no issues. Drives very well actually. I'm having to tolerate very poor running when cold which is giving me pretty good performance when warm. She appears to be cruising well at motorway speeds which is what I want if I'm going to make it on Friday.
Made some adjustments to the exhaust and fitted the replacement windscreen spat/trim. Might try and wack some paint on the drivers door tomorrow if the weathers OK....
Car's going to look rough as fook but if it makes it there and back, I'll be over the moon. Post some pictures tonight.
