Hi all. I recently took delivery of the new mk8 clubsport. After driving it for not long, a squealing sound from the front left suspension unit developed. Took it to the dealership and it turned out that the bump stop in the shock absorber had not been greased from factory which caused it to squeak and in turn, somehow, it started to rip the rubber boot to shreds. This is a known problem for VW so it was fixed under warranty. Just thought I’d let you all know just in case you’re experiencing a similar problem.

Wow. That’s pretty poor. Good to know though. Thanks for posting.

Never buy an 8, wait until 8.5

I’ve just put an order in for a Ed50 TCR ABT but the 500bhp model with all carbon fibre body, bucket seats and 6 tail pipes. It was the gas strut option too so everybody is happy.

I had the very same issue with mine but on the off side front.

What does this sound like?

Sorry for the late reply, it sounded like a squeaking/rubbing noise that got worse going over bumps
