VR6 R reg 42000 miles black exhaust is this normal or has the engine managment got a fault. have changed air filter but still black

Do you do lots of short journeys? When was the last MOT done , were the emissions ok?

Make journeys of 8 to 10 miles got mot coming up will see what emissions are like then thanks for help

You could go to halfords and get one of those mixture testers, its like a spark plug, with a see-through bit in it.They are very useful as you can see the colour of the combustion.
