OMG I'M IN LOVE AGAIN :-)
« on: 10 February 2010, 19:48 »
After owning my Vr6 for less than a week now i'm totaly in love with it, every thing about it makes me smile, sounds handels etc, even when it breaks i look forward to fixing it... I know it's sad really after all it's a 17 yr old car but she drives like a new one and sounds fantastic on the viper induction kit... I've had many faster cars and even own a new car but nothing makes me smile like the Vr6....

So far ive replaced

2 x rear tyres
leads
plugs
oil n filter
fuel filter
rear pads and disc's
Water pump and thermostat...

Now i know shes 100 % spot on im investing in some coil overs, ive seen a few cheap kits on ebay and was wondering if they are pants or any good... Difference being gmax is £500 and theres a company on ebay offering 3 yr warranty on there kits and the kit costs £180 with pillow top mounts aswell...
I understand they are cheap and even if i had to replace them for new again in a few yrs time its still hell of a saving...

I'd been keen to hear from any one running coil overs on a vr6, or on any golf for that matter, pic's if poss..... Heres the ebay link to the kit i was looking at

Reference coilovers spend more and get quality also don't run it too low as they tend to bottom out and crack sumps.

I would also remove the induction kit as it will not gain anything due to heat soak under the bonnet, a panel filter is a much better bet.

Plenty of advice in those other two threads, and many others on the forum. All it takes is a search containing the keyword 'Coilovers'
