Rear Cycle Carrier for GTI

I am trying to find the best solution for carrying 3 bikes on the back of our GTi. I am really keen on theThule 9101 ClipOn Rear Mount Carrier as it does away with straps and is supposed to be very secure. Probem is, is that Thule refuse to guarentee that it will work due to the small spoiler on the top of the tailgate. To try it out I would have to order it as cannot find any stock in London. Has anyone out there had any experience with this sort of thing or has any suggestions.

I use a halfords own three cycle carrier on my MKIII GTI16v and it works just fine. The lower straps have to be hooked over some useful holes in the chassis under the back of the car.

The carrier is rated at a max 45KG, I use it with two mountain bikes and have had no problems.
