Title: 01218 error code on sharan 56 140bhp PD engine

hi all,

did a search on vag com to get the airbag light of but only to discover this code: 01218 its a pas side airbag igniter? i done some googling and people are saying theres a prob with the airbag ingiter under the pas seat? and only way to sort it is to cut the connector out and solder the wires together? theres a guide on a website but dont want the bags popping! any help would be great

Correct me if im wrong but i have always been told to undo the battery and leave it for 10 mins so no chance of the bags going off

Thats what i did when i removed my steering wheel!
