Not updated for a while so here we go

Wheels are needing spraying again as I went through the paint on one of them while rubbing it down, I'll be painting them again but with the insides black this time.

I've also been up to R-Tech to have the Golf looked over and it wasn't great news although it's all easily fixable. After a few road runs and a lot of logging, Nick pronounced my MAF dead. It's not dangerous thankfully as it has failed but in a good way (if there is one) It is actually over reading the air going in so is shutting down the boost so a new one is needed. VW want £90 odd for one but I have managed to track down a genuine Bosch item for £56 + VAT which is more like what I want to pay. I have also bought a 4bar FPR for £14 to give the fuel a bit more scope.

Also another problem which could have been me or the delivery service is a bent actuator bracket which has affected the boost from day one really. I'm looking at getting a Forge actuator which can have different springs fitted to suit the state of tune of the engine. Only trouble with them is apparently the turbo has to be dropped slightly to gain access to one of the bolts but I'll see if I can get round it

Bought myself a Carbonio pipe and Piper X filter for the total of £50 delivered from ebay to cheer myself up though

and fitted today

My new MAF is also fitted and giving a better drive already, just the actuator to get now and I should have it working 100% at last.

Will get cracking with the wheels again next week so will update as I go

Any comments welcome as usual

You not finished your wheels yet?

Need to spend less time on Ebay and more time painting your wheels

A little update on some bits I've been sorting out

Got hold of a new breather pipe for the block, I noticed mine had started to fall apart when I fitted the catch can. This is a revised version, it now has a metal liner inside which I presume is to stop it crushing so badly

Next up I have finished modifying my brakes lines, they now fit through the brackets on the car

and I also have a set of custom made rear brake lines as the ones that come in the sets are only intermediate replacements

Just got to source some new banjo bolts for them now

I've also had my actuator arrive, it's been fitted with a stronger spring as instructed by Nick, I've just got the fun task of fitting it now.

I should have one of my wheels finished over the weekend so I'll chuck a pic up of it too

More updates when I get some bits fitted
