just realised that the focal point that i was looking at of the sun catching the distant yellow hill is not the focal point for all of you!
The photo's less about the focal point to me, more about three bands of different colours/textures - there's the water, then the dark band at the top, then the brighter band of the middle third.
The pair of V-shapes work well, too.
Anyway, here's an antidote to all these beautiful landscapes - kids on a beach, hunting fossils with my mate Giles, the retired fossil hunter:
