Help needed with my drivers side rear door
« on: 26 July 2003, 17:19 »
Hi

I am having problems with my drivers side rear door on my 94 golf VR6.

When I bought it  (only recently) I noticed the electric rear window did not work. Having read through some of the problems on here, I see it may be one of a few problems. However, I was not that bothered until I decided to replace the speakers that the previous owner decided to keep.

All the speakers work except the ones going to this same door. I tested the wiring all the way from the head unit as far as the door column before it goes into the white plug. The white plug seems all ok and it appears to make a good fit.

This leads me to believe the problems lie behind the door itself. Being far too heavy handed I do not feel brave enough to just start ripping the door panel off and also I have no idea how to do it, I would like to know if this is a common problem? If so, please can you point me in the right direction.

If you think I should get the door panel off can you give me some advice on how to do it, as I have just found out Haynes don't appear to like the VR6 :(.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Golf VR6 which is currently standard. This is going to change!
