Nah its the mk4 mate. The tappings got worse, i think it could actually be tappets now. Seems alot worse when cold, and the tapping quietens when reving. I wanna know what it is, dont wanna pay stupid amounts of cash to get someone to look at it!

LOL, sorted the problem today, was about to do the oil pick up and i thought to myself.... lets just check the pullys on the cam belt. I took the cover off, and there you have it, the bolt was hangin out, literally 3/4 of the way out. The banging was the bolt hitting against the cover. So i saved myself alot of time and money today! Im from Bristol btw
Gunna spend the money i saved on an r32 bumper and induction!
