What have you bought for your Mk8?

Not so far. We in NI are still treated as part of the EU under the NI Protocol. It will be the first time I have seen a benefit from it, normally I can’t buy things from GB and have them sent to NI. Don’t start me! - least said, soonest mended.

I guess that will be the answer... I've had my eye on a German eBay seller who are offering 18" Prets for about £250 less than UK dealers, thought it might be worth while but then I remembered about the taxes now!

I have bought a set of Borbet Y,  18 x 8, 5 x 112, ET44 alloys, to use over the winter. I need get them coated with Gtechnique C5 before having a set of winter Michelin tyres I have, fitted. I need to  sort out wheel centre caps too.

Well they’re just fantastic. Really like them. Remind me a bit of the 18s on the Ed35.

Those look excellent. Are you going for VW centre caps or sticking with the Borbet caps?

Will they fit? I'd always thought the Borbets had a smaller centre hole.

I believe they should be the same centre bore. I asked for them to match the original. Borbet make these 18Y wheels as a factory spec option for the Tiago. I bought them to avoid spigot rings. Here’s the box label.
I have tried standard 56mm centre caps and they do fit.

I have bought these vinyl sill covers to apply soon after I get some corrective paint work completed. I set them on the sills to get an idea of how they will look. They cover both levels of the sill and have the new GTI font. I had a similar set on my 7.5 and they were durable; after nearly four years they still looked good. (Apologies for the sycamore seed!).
