Very interesting, I thought SteveP had to get a new BCM to get the LEDS to work properly.

I'll get them to work, I didn't say anything to do with properly

Andy,

AGB has also got Xenophobia and I think Kenny still has not given up.

I prefer the term 'nyctophobia'.

I love disambiguation.
I meant 'non-Xenonphobia' previously. Apologies. :embarassed:

I love xenon's

Don't we all. It's blindingly obvious.
Unfortunately, some of us were too mean to factory order.
Anyone interested in swapping from Xenons to Halogens?

I'm not having any issues blinding people and manual adjustment takes a min with a standard screwdriver if you really must

I had a passenger get in the rear as a test and all was well, having said that I don't accelerate hard often which is when you'd have issues, but only momentarily.

Doc, on a practical note, how will this work when it comes to getting the car's MOT done? I know they're tightening up on HID conversion kits but not sure if they look for auto levelling when they see Xenons installed on a vehicle?

Alex: I'll let DOC answer that.
Doc/Snoops: Does the auto-levelling function work as an active feature by adjusting the alignment of the Xenons continuously when the car is in motion?

Alex re: Mot - I've never failed one yet with OEM headlamps installed, infact our works caddy gets mot'd at VW  I'd have thought they'd be more interested in beam scatter to be fair.

Asker re: beam leveling, it's active as you drive.

I was going to make you guys a video of the level as I drive so you can see for yourselves but I can't find my sucker foot for my video camera   I'll have a good look for it in work on Monday along with the leveling on the halogens

Cool. I thought it worth an ask because it all seems to be subjective and down to interpretation. I'm in favour of a clamp down on the have a go HID brigade but don't want to end up being subjected to some poorly interpreted legislation.

I'm trying to speak to someone with some common sense about insurance at the moment. My current insurance highwaymen can't deviate from their script on the phone and they'll look for any excuse to increase premiums.

When I took my MKV with Xenons to the MOT, the tester on both occasions asked me to set the level adjustment to 0.
He didn't believe me that there was no manual adjustment and it used auto leveling

As the Doc said they are more concerned about the cutoff.
All the after market HID kits I have seen on the road, fitted to reflector housings, seem to scatter light everywhere.
