Good thing for me is that my car never carrys rear seat passengers or luggage etc it's only for me to drive to work and back so even if I can't get them to work for me it won't be the end of the world, but if I can't adjust them and I'm dazzling other road users I'll take them off and order another car I think - I don't like cars without xenons!

Good excuse to lower it a bit

Lowering won't be happening sorry, I have a silly (ish) car for speedy fun.

All of the bits are here now and I've set Tuesday aside to have a play.

Massive bonus - just had a quick look under the bonnet and the headlamp wiring is very easy to access and there is plenty of space below the headlamps for extra units etc if required.

With this in mind I'll make a start on this tomorrow as I can play away without removing the bumper, made me smile :-)

On Friday I pulled the original wiring out of the headlamps and started modifying them to take the aftermarket balast and resistors too.

Well if it's good news to anyone, watched a video on you tube where a guy retro fitted oem xenons to his golf. It doesn't show how he done it or what he changed but it can be done!

I know it can be done, hazy days do it for 1500 quid for a basic install plus around 700 quid if you want leveling and turning

Lights £1425 plus vat
Module £600 plus vat
Sub total £2025

I'm at about £500 at the mo, £375 for the lights and around £125 for the bits

Sheeit! I should have bought the lights from Steve.

All the bits can be obtained for a 'full fit' for approx £1450 and the fitter in my VW Bodyshop can fit them. He has done a few. Labour charge is around £200 inc VAT. So total £1650 tops. Also, Darren has done a few complete ones.

As I am now very happy with my new Philips bulbs, I will pass, and use the money for an exciting holiday in Egypt.

Anyone care to join me?
