Snoops: Your advice please.
Should I wait for the BW45 Xenons with LED DRLs or go for the present types.
As I see it,with the present ones, the Xenons are on all the time which is something I would not be too happy with.
Decisions, decisions.

Wonder if there are anymore pics of them on, like at night? Cant seem to find any on the internet. I dont think the two pics posted do them justice

If it was me i would wait as its the one thing that really im not that happy about with the current xenons. The question then of cause is how are they controlled, by what signal from the control unit and can it be programmed on the older unit?

I will take your advice.
Sorry Kenny, but the Xenons being on all the time would drive me mad.
I'll now get the German Supplier to look for this!

PS: Or should I/we not bother with the BW45 ones? :undecided:

The shopping list for one set of Bi-Xenons:

[1] 5K2 941 753 C Left Black, 5K2 941 754 C Right Black = 739,00 Euro (extra discount if 2 sets bought!)
[2] 2 x Xenon Controllers = 250,00 Euro
[3] 2x Philips/Osram Xenon Burner = 88,00 Euro
[4] Adapter Harness from Halogen to Xenon = 45,00 Euro
[5] Retaining Rings for Xenons from VW Parts, 2 x 5M0 941 645  = £13.40
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[6] 7L6 941 329 B +7L6 941 330 B, 2 x Power Module for Cornering light = 100,00 Euro
[7] Cornering Control Module, 5M0 907 357C = 100,00 Euro
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[8] Auto-levelers from KUFATEC = 219,00 Euro
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: (a) Items [1] to [5] for the basic fitting.
         (b) Item [4] not required if Item [8] purchased.

Pretty good value overall IMO.

Any corrections and suggestions more than welcome.

You can turn the side lights on instead though. But thats not really a fix and becomes a pain doing it everytime you get in the car.

I'll consider my options over the weekend.
Too sick today to make an informed decision.
Collecting car tomorrow morning, again!

The other thing is that having Xenons of a BW45 car on a BW8 car could cause me problems in trying to get them working and possibly warranty problems with VW if the electrics go belly-up. :undecided:

They could also be very much more expensive to buy. :undecided:
