Cheers. Did another with more lake than sky but although its nearly 50/50 I think it works better

it might seem like thirds but in Lighteoom using the crop tool it shows as nearer to 50/50?

it might seem like thirds but in Lighteoom using the crop tool it shows as nearer to 50/50?

It's pretty much bang on thirds and miles off 50/50

 :grin: just realised that the focal point that i was looking at of the sun catching the distant yellow hill is not the focal point for all of you!  You guys are all seeing that linear ridge of pipework on the 3rds...obviously my focal point wasnt strong/clear enough but at least it still works :laugh:

The photo's less about the focal point to me, more about three bands of different colours/textures - there's the water, then the dark band at the top, then the brighter band of the middle third.

The pair of V-shapes work well, too.

Anyway, here's an antidote to all these beautiful landscapes - kids on a beach, hunting fossils with my mate Giles, the retired fossil hunter:

Hanover point, just off Brook beach, where we were hunting.
