Hi, ive recently purchased a standard golf gti 125bhp, this is fairly slow as it isnt the turbo so is whats the best way to get some more power and speed???

Yeah you can, but it'll cost you a couple of grand to get 150bhp and then you won't be able to go any further. If you really want a quicker car it's probably best to cut your losses and sell it then buy a 1.8T.

Non turbo you going flowed head, cams, larger intake head and cams alone for 20v easy £1.5k. So sell get turbo, seriously.

Hello,
A remap will give little power gains, but you will get sharper and crisper throttle respnose which will make the car feel quicker and more powerful. IMO dont get it remapped, put your money in a tin and save for a turbo engine or chop the car in for a turbo version.

I also have a 2.0 Gti and would like an increase in acceleration. I know a remap would only increase the power by 14 bhp or so but would it be cheaper then or would it still cost the same? And no im not getting a turbo lol

Hello,
The same amount of work is involved remap a non turbo and turbo car, In fact a NA car is harder to to write, edit the base map. Power gains are low but the engine response will a lot sharper, and the midrange should feel less strangled.
