Title: mk3 golf i have a spare block conector

got another mk3 golf  :lipsrsealed:
i removed the plastic steering surround and found this spare connector?
its not pluged in and i cant see where it would.

Does everything work? If so it is probabley for soemthing that was an option or off another model and not needed.

yer all works apart from my alarm locking the car.
just wondered why its there.

Generally manufaturers will be a generic loom then use what they need off it, i think it just works out cheaper to build on loom instead of lots of different ones, depending on spec/extras ordered on the car.

not necessarily

had a customers mk4 SDi in our workshop recently, moaning the rear door speakers didnt work.

surprise surpise there were no speakers behind the grilles, being a budget spec model. however there was no loom for them either!

so not all looms are the same!

only spare connectors that would be in that area would be mfa connector, or maybe cruise control. is it a gti without a mfa button, or do you see extra bits in the engine bay on the throttle body that could be for cruise control

its a tdi. so maybe for cruise control i keep seeing them come up on ebay.
