Thanks for adding me to the group.

I’ve always been an admirer of the Mk 1 and MK2 Golf GTi’s but until now have never owned on.
I’ve always been a fast Ford or BMW man.
Thinks have changed over the years and the last Ford I owned was a Sierra Cosworth.
Since the same it’s been BMW-Porsche and Audi.
More recently I’ve added a couple of modern day VW’s to the fleet.

I kind of bought the Golf by mistake.
I was browsing through Collecting cars one evening and came across the Golf.
It looked good and my marketing manager had been trying to persuade my to buy a Mk1 or 2 GTi to help promote my business.
I put a bid in on the for £100 over the highest bid not expecting to win with 4 hours or so to go on the bidding.
Next morning I woke up checked my emails and was shocked to see an invoice from CC saying I’d win the bidding.

I’ve had the car a couple of months and we’ve carried out some minor modifications including Wheels, suspension, seatbelts and swooped the factory steering wheel for a Momo.

That car looks fantastic!  Takes me back to seeing my friend's 16v for the first time in the early 90's.

Your car looks as good now as his did then.   Those wheels are very Lancia Integrale.
