hi there loving the car just a couple of questions is there a way to permanently turn off the lane assist , if not can if be put in the short cut menu thanks again

You will need a diagnostic tool for this.
I used an OBD eleven for this purpose and set it to remember last setting which is OFF and I've had nearly three years without kamikaze mode. I also used it to turn off the dreadful soundaktor.

You can yes but the next time you restart the car you'll have to do it again. And the next time and the next, I know it's not the end of the world but simply coding it out will be the best solution.

I turn off lane assist in a reflex action as soon as I start the car via the stalk but have been considering OBD Eleven to turn the bloody Soundaktor off
