Hi Evo1986

Thanks for your post and are you able to clarify:

"The GTI includes progressive steering, a front-axle differential lock, and an adaptive chassis control system (DCC)."

Should there be the word "Optional" before mention of DCC as can't see that in other items I ahve read

thanks in advance.

I think this is the first time anyone has stated the UK base spec.... its possible they have bundled it... possible... or its a typo (wouldn't be the first time they confused their own spec eh VW UK?)

Thanks for posting Lee :afro:

At 265PS, if you can keep the list price under £40k (at date of registration) you won’t feel particularly short changed by not ordering a Clubsport. I doubt you’d notice the performance difference on the road and the smaller turbo will probably spin up quicker making the regular GTI more flexible. Ok there’s more to it than that, but if you’re trying to keep away from the high VED on principle then the regular GTI is still a great option.

My BMW 128Ti is 265BHP and it feels no less quick than the GTI TCR it replaced, which was 290 BHP, it does not handle as well, but thats another story, off the mark there is definitely no distinguishable difference.

I shall be through the door at Ipswich VW first thing on Thursday morning (20th) to place my order

I have decided on the Grenadilla Black with the 19'' Estoril Black wheels.

I've had a mk6 and a mk7 Golf (both GT trim) in the past and I'm currently in a 2016 Tiguan SEL (195,000 on the clock!!) but I have always wanted a GTi

Cannot wait

UK configurator now up.

https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/configurator.html?---=%7B%22configuration-step-navigation-service%22%3A%22%2F%3FconfigStep%3D%257B%2522context%2522%253A%2522mofa-standalone%2522%252C%2522selectedStep%2522%253A%2522carline%2522%257D%22%7D

Just built what would have, Moonstone grey/black, Black Estoril, DCC, Camera, Black Pack and Matrix Lights and HK Sound, £42630

Could knock £2500 off by removing the DCC, Black Pack and HK, but still break the £40k as could not live with standard wheels.

However, really like the the trim options, of paint and wheels, and given the BHP Boost to 265 which is same as my 128Ti, think this might be the best standard GTI package for some time.
