Title: (Mk3) Cleaning Crystal Headlights?!
Post by: eightyeightmph on 24 August 2007, 16:22
Just replaced my passenger side Mk4 Style Crystal on the Mk3 & it has made the drivers side stick out like a sore thumb. The "reflective-ness" is dull to say the least - looks dirty?!

Is there anyway of seperating the glass from the plastic to get inside & clean it!? Seems to be held on with four clips but sealed with sticky crap that holds it tight?!

Advise!?

Ok, the answer is yes, the glass comes apart quite easily, just persuision & patience 7 taking care to not lever on the glass. Unfortunately the reflective coating on the plastic is stupidly thin & wipes straight off  :embarassed:

I now have one immaculate Crystal Headlight & one sh!t one with black plastic showing through

Anyone got a Drivers side up for sale?!

Now you tell me  :undecided:

Still, I've got hold of some "chrome look" paint, might give it a go... certainly not going to look much worse  :embarassed:
