Fitted an Audi TT "short" shift gearbox lever selector pendulum thing.

8N0711046 (this number supersedes the old Audi number 8N0711051A)

Feels neat and noticeably shorter.  Well worth the £21 it cost me through VW/TPS!

Got very frustrated with it.
And worried by the squealing from the front of the engine bay!

But have decided to get the bits of dash that are currently in the shed flocked!

Hey everyone,
I bought a W reg 1.8t golf at long last, (I've always wanted one) knowing that the oil pressure light keeps coming on, this wasn't much of a worry as it's a common thing?
Anyway, down to the point, I drove the car 60miles home and the water temp guage appeared to be reading correctly, (just under 90) but I went out in the car the day after and it overheated....
I managed to get the car home by releasing pressure from the expansion tank every few miles.
The top radiator hose gets hot and the fans kick in when they should, the ?bottom? rad hose (the one to the thermostat housing) stays cool, if I continuously squeeze/pump the hose it starts to warm, there is no flow of water in the tank with the engine running, would I be right in thinking that the water pump has failed?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Alex

Get a new water pump fitted (impellor falls off shaft, very common fault) also fit a new thermostat while your at it... Oil light will be more than likely the oil pick up pipe blocked, I would run a "Forte" engine flush, drain oil, remove sump, and fit a new oil pump, and clear all the sh!te that collects in the sump, new OE filter, and the correct oil should get you sorted..
Dont forget to check into the Mk4 section for further advice/abuse...

Went to Westside today, impressive show of mostly Mk1s/2s... didn't miss a beat in well over 200 miles, on top of the 200 it did last week to Players as well, so did nothing to my Golf today, other than drive it
