How to clear fault code 01087
« on: 18 February 2011, 14:06 »
I cleared all the fault codes on my mk golf 1.4 and the only one that keeps coming back is the code 01087 which is "basic setting not performed" I gather this means the throttle body needs to be set up as its been off for cleaning? can this only be done by VW or can any garage with the right gear do it?

thanks in advance Graham

Unfortunately I'm miles away from you but if you're ever near I'd do it for you no worries!

Might be worth taking the throttle body off and giving it a good clean before you adapt it anyway so its nice and clean and smooth flowing.

Ok heres an update so far, ive had the car to another garage this morning and he cant clear the fault either! it just keeps coming back
He thinks it could be an air leak some where causing the fault to keep coming back? any opinions welcome gang.
