Dolly: clay before you polish and then wax. That way you won't impart marring or work the bonded particles into your clearcoat.
Make sure that you seal and then wax your paintwork after claying and polishing.

I've found Bilt Hamber clay bars to be the nuts, regular for something in need of serious attention, then the soft for your 4-6 month reclay. 200g bar for a tenner and uses water as a lube. The most cost-effective solution (credit crunch and all that!)...

There's a difference in the grade of clays, which I didn't know about until very recently.

What grade is the clay bar in megs smooth surface kit? The clay is yellow. I clayed my car two weeks ago with it but am expecting a polisher soon. Is it worth going for a more aggressive clay or a finer one? I've just bought sonus green (apparently) off the net. Not sure whether it is sonus green because it was just two green bars in wrapping, no box or anything. Very soft even at outside temps (~10*C).
