whats the bhp on a standard mk3 gti 16v???

Kinda having an arguement with this one lol

150bhp top speed 134mph only 10mph faster than the 8v book of 124mph..

its the fact that the cars are heavy which kills the pig apparently..

Cheers count, i said they where 150, my mate recons they where 115, and i said that was the 8v.

8v = 115 bhp for an 85kw @ 5400 rpm
16v= 150 bhp for a 110kw @ 4800 rpm

8v = 124 mph t/s
16v = 134 mph t/s

But you can get more than the stated top speeds out of them, so I am told lol

yeah well think we know that, even my 8v gets more then 124mph on a good dense cold air day..

not much more tho and thats standard.

it just takes time to get there.. :embarassed:
But thats what the manufacturers quote anyway..

mines 8v n 115bhp, dont think they made mk 16v, instead they jumped to 1.8 20v

I know i raced an 8v mk4 one on the A1 and it lost..
