Title: tdi cold mornings!!

just wanting to know if anyone else finds that there tdi's are a little loud when first started in a morning (ie cold mornings like now lol). mine gets dead quiet after a couple of miles but its sounding like the neighbours diesel pug over the road :( . Is there anything i can check on it - i aint looked as im not sure if its a fault or just the way they all are lol.

please help

i go ta tdi se it aint noisy in the cold mornings infact ad say it performs better on cold days u can really feel the turbo then

I've got a gt tdi 130 and i don't think its any noisier in a morning, i do have a little pug 106 diesel (58 BHP!!) tho as well, and that sounds like a tractor first thing on a cold morning, also had a 306 Dturbo that was the same sounded noisy when it first started but only in the cold. Don't know why tho???   :undecided:

I consider them loud irrespective of the weather conditions.

No way are they loud in my opinion.. Mine is a pd tdi (100).. its just a little noisy in the cold but once its warmed up its a dream drive!! ive only noticed this the last couple of morningss. May take it back to the garage as its got 2 year warranty still

my 1.8T petrol makes a horrible grrrrrrrsasahshahsh noise just as i start it, then it settles down to a purr... but dont know what the noise is at the start.

it does it worst, first thing on the first start, if its driven for a while, then restarted the nosie is lessened.

any ideas?

mines definately just on a cold morning first starting the car. Once the car is warmed up it can be started up again and the sound is gone!! Its annoying no knowing wat it is
