HI Blue.
There was a modified gasket available from VW, you had to replace the studs and the gasket was made of rubber. The new studs had a shoulder on them to stop over tightening and crushing the gasket. Cant find the part no at the mo, but worth speaking to the stealer if the oil leak is a problem.

by any chance are they little plastic washers?

they was already on mine i just replaced cause the oil was eating them up.

thanx alot peeps. great help.

I had to change the studs to go with the gasket and this has stoped the leak.

Might be something worth remembering when changing one.
