Evenin'
I need the help of the Golf experts....!! I hope this is the right place to post as well... if not apologies I'm a new boy.
Right, I am very sad but I've gotta sell my Mk 2, as I'm off to work abroad. The only issue is how much to try and get for it...
It's a G reg, dark blue Mk 2 16v 1.8 GTi and it's wicked. Lowered, alloys, the engine was practically rebuilt 2 years ago, it's just had a new clutch, got MOT for another 10 months, tax for 11 months, had new bits in the gear box last month. On the minus side it's got 156,000 miles on it.. needs a new wheel arch rim on one side and needs a little bit of love over all. Having said that it's by far the best car I've ever had and I want to find a good home for it for the right price. it runs really well.
I paid £1500 for it 2 years ago.
What do you think I should ask for it/do with it ??????????
Many thanks///

I would say 156k is average miles for a 89/90 mk2 recon you would be looking at £1200-1300 at the most if it still needs a few bits sorting. The tax and mot is the bonus though it would prob be worth less without them..
Welcome to the forum anyways and good luck overseas.
Stick a post in the for sales section with the details and some pics if possible..you never know plenty cars get sold from round here.

Hello! Cheers for the welcome....
I am v.sad I love my car!!! Sadly I don't think leaving it on my drive for 4 and a half months when I'm in Ibiza is going to be a very good idea....

It'll still be here when you get back from Ibiza ! Welcome to the site by the way. I'd agree with count on the price £1200 - £1300 a bit more if it's a minter as people are always after valvers. Put a post up in clubgti on their for sale section and on here. Please don't let it go to some chavved up nonce !

Having looked around here last night, it got to 3am and I just had to take it for a spin...
I really don't know if I can part with it.... It's like splitting up with a girlfriend without wanting too!
Give me £2k and I'll get it bang up to speck and come and show it at one of these GTi days. Now that would make me a happy man!
-
Give me it and I'll look after it for you while you are in Ibiza !
Ah man, i fekkin love Ibiza !

In a complete government style U turn... I can't sell it.

A very trusted friend might have to look after him for a 4 months or so...... A better option I think than leaving it on my drive, or selling it/...
Perhaps I should ebay it... Borrow my Golf for 4 months!! bidding currently at £0.99.
Maybe not...

Yeah keep it man otherwise you are gonna regret it for sure...
