I've got a factory supplied spare in mine. It's an 18, nothing bigger fits in the hole!

I have adelaides too.

If you have a clubby it won't fit on the front as the calipers are too big but will on a gti.

Does Amy know what this option brings over the standard suspension?

I like the red car too.

Would you sack off the Grey one and go and view the Red one then?

I agree a 1 owner car and full VW SH is not to be sniffed at, though it’s MOT history isn’t as strong as the Grey one.

The red one is my current No.2.

I like the look of the red one. For starters it has been regularly serviced, it has Pirellis all round which although I'm not a fan, it does indicate a cared for car. Also it's a Performance Pack so better breaks and a better diff. And it's red, I like red. Looks like a decent car to me. Impressive too that the driver's seat bolster appears good too. With all of them though on diamond cut alloys, there's a high chance they won't be able to be cut again as there's a limit to the number before they get too thin.

Hey Watts,

Fair comment to be fair.

I’m coming to these cars from an Audi A7 SLine, so still learning about them.

I get what you’re saying, and agree to an extent. But…..if I could pinch it for a grand less, if the mechanics are good and the DSG services have been done for example, which I don’t know yet, it might not be as bad.

I’m happy to stand in front of it and give it a chance. Not like there’s a shortage of Mk7’s if I found it was a bit of a dog.

Hi Wayne. Given you have already noted a few issues that may require a lot of expense to sort, why not look for a better car? Apart from Dynaudio, I can't see much else unusual (other than the personalisation) and Dynaudio isn't the be all. Potentially at that mileage the thermostat/waterpump might also need doing, probably for the second time.

Hello JV,

In all honesty the aesthetic changes can be altered. I actually do dig the purple, though the badges are a tad OTT.

The mechanics and service scheduled items are what matter more to me.

DSG servicing etc. Given its mileage, I’d expect 2 services here, at 40,000 miles each for example. If not, that is a big bargaining chip, maybe even a walk away point.

The headlights do look terrible, but may be fixable if I was able to sort them with some TLC.

I’ve got 19” Adelaide’s and have recently obtained the parts to fit a spare wheel and jack / tools into the boot on my Clubsport. These are the bits you’ll need:

1. 18” Vag spare wheel found on many VW Audi group cars
2. Boot floor threaded post and fixing screw
3. Vag spare wheel jack and tool kit (mine was off a Leon).

I did not have to get a scalloped trim, I think you mean the trim against the bumper edge inside with a cut out? Mine seemed to have a curved part and the wheel fits.

The problem we will all have is getting a skinny space saver over the front calipers. The only way I think this can be dealt with is if you have a front puncture, you’ll need to swap a good full size rear wheel to the front and put the spare on the rear where you have a smaller caliper.

I got the spare off gumtree, Jack and tools off eBay plus the threaded post and screw. Just search around and you should find all the bits for under £100.

Well, the lights must have been apart to change the red inner trim.

Do you have a love of purple? All those changes look a bit challenging to me!
