Really needs some hull council blue banded G60 steels.
Really looks nice that. surprised on your choice after the wagon but then I guess it makes sense right now... I'm sure you'll get this sorted wherry style like a bellend in no time knowing you.
Just try not to bottom this one out too much. :lipsrsealed:

Tinted lights look loads better.
Where did you get that fly eye tint from? You better not say Alex...

Was just about to drive home from work and i was like why the f*ck is he calling me? :D
Dan
I never thought I'd say this...
But I'm not convinced it needs to go lower...
Only just realised the Polo in those pics is also lowered.
Bloody hell  What brand of coils is it on? I'd like a 9n3 after my current daily and that's not nearly low enough  Some larger wheels would help the look though. Back on topic, the Ibiza looks awesome :afro: Half smoked or all red rears would be sweet.Only just realised the Polo in those pics is also lowered.
Yeah dude :D we fitted them the other day and took adjusters and caps off and wound all the way down on the front with ARB choped out and that's how low it goes :lipsrsealed: but he's not after dickhead lows so it's cool.

Dan
The LEFT driveshaft!? That thing is as thin as a match stick anyway :D
Not everything goes as low as a mk3
how much clearance have you got left to play with?.. knowing you, a fag packet depth is still like 4x4 territory in your eyes!
Damn... you sound like you really want this car to be dragging its ass on the floor..(http://phillieslongdrive.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/superslam.jpg)
looks ace dan.
i've got that fly eyes stuff on my mk2 lights in yellow. a mate's skoda pick up has just failed mot with his fitted though. just thought i'd let you know.
Engine conversions have started already and we're only 11 pages in!
If you have the 1.4 16v engine then you might want to look into ITBs rather than bike carbs. Apart from all the Polos that have done it there was a mk2 with a 1.4 16v ITB swap that was pretty mental   I don't have any thread about it though, someone just posted some videos in a vwvortex thread
Mk2 project ay. Oooow. I think 11pages and u wanna already start some big things is what makes me keep readin?
Sheeeet  That looks amazing man :afro:Mk2 project ay. Oooow. I think 11pages and u wanna already start some big things is what makes me keep readin?
Haha i aim to please :D
cut the back off my merc trims so i've been rocking them tie wrapped onto my wheels..
you know how it is
Dan
And i'd say is done! it's low enough.
those trims really do look good with the colour of the car.
The fact you are planning a mk2 is great, will you be keeping both?

Mr monday, uve made my hard day better haha. Whens the extra notchin happening?
Chop a coil? Lol. Dan mondays way to lower a maxed out car. I like it. I don't have to cos av got helpers and threads left. What make r the coillies
Y do people key cars. Its just a pain. And raceland. How far is it dropped then?
Is that really safe running the track rod end underneath :undecided:
If you lose the nut and it drops out, you have had it really.

My friends have done it on their 6n and 1.8T corrado with no issues :) a lot of corrado owners do it, supposedly corrects the geometry of a lowered car.

Respect that  but I still think it is a mad / nutts idea
Just do what motor sport do drill the nut and split pin it job done
Well had the engine back in, was absolutely fine...

Then the drive shaft went :D i knew it was on its way out after the engine dropped so i was just too lazy to replace it.
gutted dude, hope you get it fixed soon!
Did the drive shaft going have anything to do with a humpback bridge? :lipsrsealed:
sorry about the trouble. . . . .
but loving the fully demountable recovery wagon, a must for lowered motors :afro:

This is what happens when you lower a car into oblivion :lipsrsealed:
This is what happens when you lower a car into oblivion :lipsrsealed:
I cannot help but think the same, lowering a car is ok but lowering it to the point of things breaking does not seem  to me.
Ouch. What car? MK5?
Non declared mods?
Does make ya wonder if you left it totally standard if any of that shi.t would have happened ... but where's the fun in that :D
Finally fixed car yesterday! Took the absolute piss but i'm just glad it's back on the road. Got some flicks lastnight, will post them up later :)
Just one uploaded on facebook, will go and get proper flicks later :)

Anybody else seen the most recent pics on facebook :lipsrsealed:
Dare I say this :undecided:
Maybe it's time to raise it a little? :lipsrsealed:

Is that 3 times in 2 weeks now??
....until next weekend when the next drive shaft is buggered :lipsrsealed:
Raised engine means less angle and therefore stress on the suffering driveshafts.

i meant the whole concept of this car in general. not the raising of the engine.
What's not to get? Cheap daily run about slammed on it's arse
What's not to get? Cheap daily run about slammed on it's arse
its not cheap because it goes through driveshafts like i go through crisps
its hardly a runaround because it wont be able to go anywhere and is not fit for purpose. infact i doubt its strictly legal (construction and use blah blah blah)
its not 'stanced', its is literally on its arse because theres so much reverse rake, and does not look good. just broken.
its still on standard wheels that make it look even more like the suspensions collapsed. If it had aftermarket wheels of some description with a bit of thought put into ET's, then it may look ok.
it definitely wont handle that low
in summary, it was a semi nice car thats been ruined.
this is what i do not get.

I think it's only Dan that does!
i'm open to suggestions and take ideas on board but your input is pointless and quite frankly boring.
i'm open to suggestions and take ideas on board but your input is pointless and quite frankly boring.
your clearly not open to suggestions though, your just crying because i dont like it.
my suggestion was that it would look better if it wasnt so low. It would also be nicer to drive and wouldnt break so often.
that sir, is a suggestion, a point, an idea, an improvement even.
I also feel that if you find it boring, it could well be that alot of people have said its too low and not fit for purpose maybe? If thats the case then maybe you should take heed.
Just because my opinion differs from your doesnt make it pointless. Opinions are like arseholes my freind, we all have them and are entitled to use them.
Dan message me your number on facebook please mate need to ask you a favour. P.s i dont think your car is low enought.

I think Chris has a point, yes lowering a car is fine but only to a certain point, when things start breaking etc then to me it is a little pointless.
Air ride :lipsrsealed:
I saw a couple of different auctions on ebay yesterday for black mk3 sunvisors if they'd fit?

Fair point i can understand where you're both coming from but this is just how i roll, i'll most likely get a 'decent' car with a Chris White approval stamp in a few years but while i'm young and still live with my rents.. why not, could learn from my mistakes or i could have a sweet car at the end of it, who knows eh. But i'm building it so that i can go low without breaking things, raising the engine, chassis notch, tie rod flip etc, eventually re-enforce the bottom of my car / sills.

You've cut notches in the legs that provide crash crumple zones and support the engine in the car. You've raised the engine out of where it's been designed to fit and deform in a crash, you've flipped the track rod ends so they may be acting outside their design parameters.
Not only are you a bloody danger to yourself, but also to others on the road. Your suspension will be incapable of sucking up any bumps, to maintain the wheel's contact with the road and thus grip, increasing your stopping distances and (as Chris has mentioned) the car's fitness for purpose.
Frankly I doubt your modifications are insurable, let alone insured.
You strike me as quite possibly one of the stupidest people modifying cars on this forum today.
It's not 'how you roll' it's a danger to the rest of us and I hope it finds you points and fines before too long, as given your age you'll be off the road and uninsurable for some time.
Even then I suspect you'd probably drive unlicensed and uninsured, because 'that's how you roll'.
'how you roll' is no excuse for the b*stardisation you are committing to this car.
It's a licensed, legislated-for mode of transport, not an iphone cover or some other BS lifestyle enhancing accessory, which is what you're treating it as.
Grow up. Cars are for adults, skateboards and BMXs are for children like you, who shouldn't be allowed a tonne of metal missile to drive into other road users with no idea of the consequences.
Haha how did i guess you was going to pop up, i'm not insured nor do i have a license, i'm actually 15 years old as you can tell from my modifications to my car, because that's just how i roll. please refrain from posting in my thread. Although you are correct, you are a bellend.
Hate is far too strong an emotion in this scenario.
I pity you. You have my pathos.

Example of "on paper one thing, in theory another".
I'm sure the car is fine. You just adjust your driving style to suit.
Before you start, I can assure you, I raised my car to standard height today. Went round a roundabout and the wheels lost grip under power and the car understeered.
When it was lowered I could have done it a whole lot faster and it would have gripped and it was at the bottom of the threads.
That's real life example for you. Plus the brakes are sharper.

noone said this was about standard vs lowered. Yes, a golf dropped about 30mm or so with flat whisbones probably will corner quicker than one at standard height. a fully dropped one might FEEL like its cornering quicker. but when the standard one let go, it did is progressively right? With a full drop, your roll centres will be all over the shop and when that car does let go, it will do it very sharply and very suddenly.
theres so many variables in your ''test'' that could affect the roundabout speed that its not even worth considering. had diesel been spilt, did you take the exact same line, where your tyres the same, same tyre pressures all round, braking point identical, how did you feather in the throttle, its just NOT a valid comparison in any way shape or form. Please bear in mind your trying to proove this to people who have had many years of track experience or have studied for degrees in motorsport engineering. Quite frankly, to expect people to consider that as a real life example is basically insulting.
was that arrogant, ignorant or insulting? or am i just a 'hater whos gonna hate' because my opinions and views differ from yours?

Insert 'haters', 'your Mum' etc rapier-witted comeback below, little children.

I simply don't agree with the whole progressively letting go.
With it up high, my car as a general rule understeers like an absolute b!tch, and when it lets go it just tends to go, quite sharply.
When it's low, there is a private roundabout and some road in Chatham Docklands and I have had my car at various sharp angles and can feel when it's going to let go.
When it's high, although still controllable, it's a suprise when it goes, lowered, you know when its about to.
Maybe it's just because I'm used to it being low but I know I certainly, personally can drive quicker when it's on the floor.
I'm sure if it was somewhere in the middle it would be even better but still.
Bloody hell dan this is a haters gona hate thread lol
Always going to get these sort of keyboard warriors, have to try and give you beef over the internet because they clearly have nothing better to do. :)

Keyboard warriors suggests the rest of us have done f*ck all, which is manifestly not true.
In response, there are always going to be idiots like you coming on here showing us how you're butchering cars appallingly because you think it's cool.
Every time your car scrapes the road, a kitten dies.
Fact.
Have you told your insurance company about cutting bits out of your shell and lifting the engine?
Can u make sure am not in hull at the time. I would hate my valver toi be taken out in the explosion.
I think u need a syncro with an abf dan. Thats the problem here
Dan, get a sticker done up for the car window: "Haterz gunna hate"
You're a brave guy for posting that horney :D but yeah all welding was done by my friend who owns his own engineering company (and does my banded steelies) and his quality of work is awesome to say the least.
You carry on Mr Monday, i still love you!

Meh. I think some peopl are just over reacting. People have been tubbing arches, body dropping over modded chassis and the such since car modding began. As long as you approach it with the right attitude and get the work carried out to an excellent standard I don't see the issue. I much prefer thigs like this than muppets who cut their standard springs, shove in loads of camber shims and then drive round on bike tyres on over sized rims inflated to a million PSI.

well its an open forum - so feedback can be good, bad or middle of the road - thats the way it works. :smug:
Fair play for looking at ways of fixing the problems you have now caused yourself by going so low - thats the good
But i look it this way, your spanking a LOT of cash on this, you think what you could have got with it all - thats the middle of road :undecided:
And god help you at renewal time for your AA, a lot of policies are loaded if you have used them alot - which you have - thats the bad
Still think you should have kept ya Mk3 Wagon BTW - :lipsrsealed:
 not DH approved.
I'm sorry but there is a load of fail on this thread...
Speaking of butchering cars and raising the engine...
Anyone see that mk2 Jetta by Rayvern Hydraulics. It's taken Dans 'butchering' to a whole new level.
Yeah, okay, it is on hydros but still the car has been practically cut in half, there are some build pictures in Golf+ for you to see

Yeah man, i drive this daily and it has been absolutly fine (with regards to chassis notch and raised engine) the opposite driveshaft is very slightly knocking and rubbing when cornering since this but that's until i get this side notched. I don't see an issue with it, but then again it's DH that i'm arguing with here.. i'll never win.well its an open forum - so feedback can be good, bad or middle of the road - thats the way it works. :smug:

Very true man, it's just the way some people go about it :D i'm working on ways to get it low without breaking things (like driveshafts / sumps etc) and it seems to be working so far, just the track rod arms to do. Fair play on the $ side of things but hopefully i shouldn't have to spend much more on getting it sorted :) as for the AA renewal they love trying to get my car on the flat-bed.. :D
i wish i did keep it dude :( i've been looking at them again :lipsrsealed:
Haha that's awesome Shady :D and i don't think he was comparing it chris  also wayne, i think it's meant to look slightly stupid.. gets attention and advertises the company that made it, looks like top quality work to me :)
Fantastic read mate - how many driveshafts have you broken now?
Will keep an eye on this tread as look forward to see the end result!
Well it's heartening that it's insured, even if it is utter clutter.
Do we have any photos of this orsum chassis leg notching?

For f*cks sake Dan, is this heap of sh!t still going? Why don't you do everyone a favour and scrap the thing before you kill any more kittens
Where did you get your roof lining material fron dan?
Copydex smells of dirty fish though!
Copydex smells of dirty fish though!
Hahah, my car stinks of DH's mum..
What makes copydex better?
Thinking about doing my roof in tweed.
Range : selling sh!t all over the godamn country. http://www.therange.co.uk/
So you just cover the whole thing in copydex?
That's gotta be well fiddly! How long did it take?
Patience?
That's me fücked then!
What about the seat belt height adjuster, surely that's fiddly as fook to get looking right AND usable?
Just seen the pic on fb of you jumping her... and you wonder why you get through drive shafts!
Wow really, a whole 150 miles

wheels will look bad ass when fitted,
why are the steels being banded in slough when you live in hull?
and wherebouts in slough were you working?
Fair nuff, i used to work near there, du drive your motor down there or company car?
Ahhh boring!
I recon a bright silver, or anthracite rather than black :undecided: Black will make them look less banded IMO
purple would looks awesome against the grey :afro:Yes, do this purple would look awesome

Cream ftw!
purple would looks awesome against the grey :afro:
I'm feeling some ivory love.
If not, I think mercedes silver would make these look pretty sweet, bright colours can look pretty cheap, combine that with your poverty spec arches, it may look a bit rat!!
Absolutely love where this is going either way, you always pull it off!
Red? Or whit for super bright!
purple would looks awesome against the grey :afro:Yes, do this purple would look awesome
+1 i also agree!
Howd u rip the rear beam off?
Not too bad. I you didnt go silly low though dan...
I dont need to finish that sentance cos you know. Haha. The rolled arches look ghetto to fcuk mate. I like it
Fook me, there was sooooo much to read to catch up... To be honest it was getting boring with all the b!tching.
I couldn't give a sh*t how crazy you mod your car as long as you don't drive it like a wayneker which i'm sure this car prevents you from doing regardless of engine size anyway..
What I will say is that I think you're crazy but persistent and for that I take my hat off as personally I couldn't be ars*d with all the hassle. I have never seen someone go through so much trial and error at 18 for something they really want and if you want it that bad then keep it up and i'm sure you'll get there in the end. I just hope that this doesn't end up dead like the wagon as I was really gutted that the project ended on a bad note.
PS... Purple wheels.
So if another wagon were to appear one day, would that be a project alongside this rather than a replacement?
Ah Dan you ledge.

Example: "I've just lowered the car, scrapes everywhere, completely unpractical, breaks down and the police love me.. it's fcuking Danny Monday Low"

Yeah man :) i said "isn't it allowed to be 30mm of poke?" and he just said it can hit pedestrians, didn't want to argue as he was being okay :D
Pretty sure the wing mirror sticks out more than your wheels?

Y weres u front plate gone
i bumped the curb at mcdonalds and the tiewraps holding my license plate popped off.

1.8 16v KR on Bike carbs, got the carbs, got the engine at my mates, just need to pick it up drop the £ off and rebuild the engine
engine sounds wicked
Haha, I thought this was your daily to save funds? :undecided:
Haha am only joking thou! Sounds like a good idea! And doubt its being done, I'm looking at a mk1 with a 1.8 16v kr with zx9r carbs fitted and it sounds awesome! And apparently goes very well! But bit out my price range, in fact most things are, even henshaws mini skips at 49quid are too expensive, lol
Just wonder what sort of mpg they do thou ..
I don't have facebook, get some flicks up on here properly!
What are you on about not low!?
Looks awesome.
What's going on with that coil over though?
Is it the circlip popped off mate on the coilover?
I don't think there's any point in using logic to try and work out why that happened.
This is just personal preference but (now I'm gunna sound ike an OAP) it looks like you've hit a pothole and bent the rear axle - the car looks broken with that much camber
On the plus side I love the banded steels
I am with Chris on the fact it looks like you broken something.
I like it for some reason.

I'm really not feeling that much camber on a modern car, I think it only suits old Beetles and Karmanns etc.
wait for the hate!.......................
this is mr monday's thread your reading. everybody clicks on it it see what the flip you've done next

Do you still have the Merc hubcaps? They would be sweet
Car is looking good mate... even my GF likes it haha
Could you get smaller hubcaps and cable tie them to the face of the steel? Inside the dish I mean. Two piece splits innit?
Get some moondiscs on em!
Get some moondiscs on em!
No thanks!
They barely look good on aircooled stuff!!
Some lotus style caps however....
Those Bora caps look the nuts.
That's some extremeness!! I know your little bald head works in mysterious ways, but even i'm a little unsure on the camber.. :undecided: I think maybe hubcups off and some crazy ass colour on the steelies

Spot on shaun!...a tad far :D
Even for you?
Dang, sorry to hear man
Yeah, that rear camber can go two ways really, either aircooled rat or JDM style HellaFlush...
Or some kind of little bald headded new thing Mr. Monday will be pioneering.
HellaBroke or summat.
Think this will be on hold for a little while, just lost my job today so not sure what i'm doing yet :undecided:

Not again.
Bad news man, you'll get another sorted in time
Not my cuppa. :undecided:
Pretty sick. Could do with more camber and some cheaper wheels though IMHO.
Good luck on finding another job quickly....
Not sure about the rear on that MX5 but there's something about it I like.
I think because it reminds me of retro Jap styling like on this old Skyline.
^^^ Well fingers crossed then....
Yeah it makes sense just looks a little odd over something that was meant to be there like how they do it on the back of a lotus.
Tbf, it's a 1.6 mx5, the last thing it needs is rear downforce.
I think it looks cool though.
They're my perfect wheel for a luxurious German car, but for a utilitarian, ratty JDM drifter I think they're too expensive... When the wheels look like they cost more than the car, something's wrong.
Then again, they look sweet on Mk3s which seem to be worth about £30 at the moment.
winnies mx5 is a beast, sounds metal, stripped out, caged and turbo charged. the wheels did cost him a fair wack but like dan said its in for a full paint at p b customs soon. he's actually basing the paint colour around the wheels coz he likes them that much.
the rear diffuser is from a lotus i think?
it will look awesome when painted! its also his dailly
....
oh and sorry to hear about the job dan. hope you move onto summat you enjoy a bit more!
are you going on bft next week?
Decat ftmfw dan

The arches are nutty and awesome  Looking forward to seeing the crazy wide steels
Now that's what it needed... Nice one, he's done a cracking a job on that!
Can't wait to see some distant shots of the car.

May be worth figuring out a quick release front bumper, that'd look sweet and save you a lot of time.

Bottomed out in front of the 5-0 and he noticed my rear strut wasn't secure so got VOSA down, they issued the PG9 and allowed me to drive home. Really nice guys and can't complain at all, just doing their job and did it well i thought. Think this is the only time i've had a good word to say about them :D
Camber's getting adjusted once i get new wheels on ;) it's at 8 degrees at the moment :)

Great project mate! Really like this car...never seen a static drop so low lol
Cheers
Pics on page 56 look awsome mate. Haters keep on hating, and I wouldnt run this low for practicality but its not my car so who am I to judge. Keep up the good work!

Dan you do look little in there.
It looks like the seat subframes have been lowered as well, are you really that small?

You are my hero!
I think you are mad.... properly mad. I don't quite understand it all but in a sick way I find your threads very entertaining. How about the state of the roads, are you churning them up with this car?

Yeah, gotta say I do love a bit of roof gear, I've got my skis on the roof today.
What you can't see in that pic are the two bikes on the back as well.
I'd love to see an Ibiza with a fairing.
I do, I'll sort them out tonight and maybe even start a dub rides thread or something. :lipsrsealed:
Just trying to catch up with some threads I've not seen in a while! Looking forward to seeing the wheels properly
Holy tyre stretch Batman!
What colour are you going?
(Wheels and car!)
Rear tyres came today, a bit mashed up on the inside lip so not sure if they'll hold air  bought from a lad on facebook, know who not to trust in the future.I suddenly want 10j wheels on my golf. Look real good man!
Just need valves, also waiting on front tyres from demon tweeks.
MOT on saturday :)

Just wanted to see if they would sit on the bead, they seem to fine so a bit of silicone on the inside should stop them leaking hopefully (if they do leak that is) :)
And a cat by the sounds of it.
Looks good though mate.
So, is it the wheel causing the leak or the tyre then?
Like the comment on FB, on a certain member sucking your rears.
Absolutely f*cking insane
Out of curiosity what does it drive like with those on? Do you feel every minute camber in the road??
I like the look of the stealies. But baby blue seems to go well
red looks ok,............. rattled cream like winnies mx5 would look
diy ftw!
I prefer the grey.
looks cool man.
Was never sure on the rear arches, but the new wheels fill them really well, so they don't look odd anymore.

Sweet  if you don't mind me asking how much did it cost in rattle cans to do it yourself?
It isn't perfect but touched up the little bits i missed :) paint's flaking off the wheels, front bump strip needs another paint, filler in bumpers cracked, bonnet and roof needs flatting down... but i now have no money what so ever so this is how it will be for edition.. if it makes it :)
How did the blowouts happen?
Awesome.
Was someone driving a bit too fast?
You're fcuking nuts, you know that?
Looks really nice when it's all wet and clean (No not your head) Once winter passes you should look into going gloss red
I sent you a text the other day, i guess your number changed?
It said: "Oh Danny, you came and you touched me inappropriately, then i sent you away, oh Danny" Don't ask me why i sent that, i was bored..

damn man!... 11 shafts.. fook that, i've had enough jip with one.
is there anything at all you can do to prevent these shafts from going all the time apart from the obvious?... is it always the same side?
Pretty pretty please let it be a VR6.
Was thinking earlier how cool a 20V NA conversion would be.
Especially if you cammed it.
Love the plates, they look sick!
I can see your tats! :embarassed:  The tattoos look cool too! Need to start designing my sleeve, i've been slack!
Why don't you go for someting like a V5 or V6 from the Mk4?

Doubt it would fit and if your going to the trouble of fitting a 1.8 20v you may as well fit a 1.8t.

Not if you're someone who likes to be different.
I see 20v on ITBs or similar.
Also, ITB or bike carb setup could mean a lot less fuss with ECU's and suchlike.

Agreed, I would guess it would be easy to sort with a Fabia vRS donor that would be a 130 but a remap would soon sort it.
Any clues?

hope you stick with this one and get it up and running. good luck with it pal!
Are you gonna paint up the engine bay whilst your there Dan? It would be a shame not too
Blimey, what are you doing to those subframes?
Can't you get someone to weld some skid plates on the new one?
Loving it! Can't wait to see this progress further
Love how this is gonna sit on your road like that for a couple of weeks!
Fair play dude! Woulda thought It would have made more sense to paint the 'bay while the engine is out the way but then again you don't seem adverse to ripping your cars apart at any give time lol!
Have you decided on a colour for the respray yet?
Colour - Luminous Pink.
Do it, let the haters hate!
I'm not happy you've ripped it out so soon though. Means we have to wait well over a week before we can see the engine going in!
here we go again... How do you leave the car overnight? do you cover it?

Picked up donor but doesn't seem to be hitting boost, tried bypassing the N75 valve and running it straight from waste gate pressure but nothing at all, just going to 0. Any ideas, help would be appreciated :) need to have a look in the light!

Is it mapped? Do you know what boost it is hitting? Could be a number of things, a boost leak is highly likely, what d/v does it have?
Mine isn't boosting as it should be, only hitting a peak of 11psi, fitted Forge 007p, replaced the MAF, new N75 Valve - all of which have been tested and are working fine. There are no boost leaks so it's looking like the actuator needs upgrading

Think wastegate is stuck, not boosting what so ever :( turbo is only a few months old too, going to take another sicky and start ripping it apart tomorrow :) haha.

Nah man was over £900 :D fixed it now though, the thing (not sure name) that opens the wastegate was seized from it being stood for 3 months, soaked it in WD and give it a few tug's and all is cool :) bay is a horrible mess, when engine is out i can sort it all out though!

Any ideas on what colour your going when you repaint it yet mate?
So does that mean it's not even running yet?
When can you get in the seat and start driving it?
See on facebook it had a good day out today :lipsrsealed:
Some driving videos soon then?
Well done on getting it up and running but seriously how the hell do you cope with speed bumps outside your home on a daily basis?? Ludicrous.
haha best way to describe that video is.. Bwarrrp... SCRAPE.. Bwarrrp... SCRAPE!!!
Love this little thing
Thought you'd been quiet lately!
Never usually one to take things slowly so thought you may be up to something!
Just before crimbo mate. Been a bit of a rollercoaster but I love it tbh.
Good luck with finding something with 400+ horses that will fit into a mk3 though!
I like this idea. U gunna get another wagon?
Awesome
You change your mind like you change your pants, once a week!
Nice work danny! Will be following the engine build closely, got my VRT to do in the next coming years :D
Nice work danny! Will be following the engine build closely, got my VRT to do in the next coming years :D
Cheers bro :) stripping this has made me realise how much actually needs replacing  but it's cool, not rushing this one - want a reliable 400WHP
You gonna put new rings in and leave the pistons or you going for the full shabang? i.e. rods, pistons, crank blah blah?
Nice, its just like pushing a baby in a pram, dub stylee :D
Good to see progress and sounds like a good setup. Engines are supposed to be pretty strong on standard internals and ARP rod bolts, so you'll be sweet with the head bolts and main studs too. I was going to aim for 350-400 with just the ARP rod bolts and dropped compression down to 9:1. Read up people running on complete standard internals, standard compression with a reliable 300+bhp (low boost).
Love that picture of you pulling the VR!
Sounds like you really are going all out on this one! How long till you get bored though?
I wish I could stack up goodies like this for a future project.
Didnt realise you had got so far with this.
I have a few questions as were doing similar things.
1)How thee cocking hell did you hold the crankshaft while trying to get the pulley bolt off?Ive had an inch drive windy gun on it and no joy!
2)Can you have a word with your scottish mate and get me a price for doing my head please.(i will strip it but want it porting polishing and new valve guides putting in)
3)Who is Joerg as i require a full pulley set like your cs pulley.
4)Are you getting your engine dipped locally?Nearest i can find is bloody Northampton!
I will be watching this.Look forward to seeing you at the pod
infact cockit im off in the garage to strip mine now
There the ones!Nice one mate, bloody good price too!
Well you inspired me so ive just been and stripped the block bare including the crank :smug: although i now need a waterpump....but i was going to buy one of them anyway ha ha.
Just been decoking the forged pistons and speccing up the rings.Hopefully be able to get them from Mahle but i will wait till the bore is done incase i need oversize pistons.
Thanks for the number i will be in touch with him once i get the head off the other engine so i can see which is best.
What pistons and rods are you going for?

If you dont get your engine down to mateys before the next Rollin Crew meet let me know and i will set off early and take it through with you.

I dont fancy coming to a meet in Hull and then setting off to bloody Scotland
Not sure when the next one is but if you dont get your block to Carrs beforehand gimme a shout and i will come over to Hull earlier and sling it in the boot of her mk4 and take you down there.
Im going Supercharger route.
