Bit more done, picked the VR block and head up so have been cleaning that up ready to paint it. Bought a full gasket set, new crack pipe and thermostat housing.
Picked a few bits up last night from Gaz (lowlifedubber) for a proper bargain price.
Need to get the crank pulley bolt undone, was told it was a pig to get undone when the engine is out of the car, me and a mate were standing on a 2 foot breaker bar and it still didn't budge. Gonna take it to my mates dads who's got a 1" drive impact gun to see if that will shift it.
Need to build the head up, cleaned all valves and brought the valve tool and grinding paste home from work so should get it done tomorrow.

Started cleaning the bay up a bit, there doesn't look to be any surface rust which is good, the whole car is solid which isn't normal for a mk3, it must have been taken care of previously.
Got the wire wheel to the drivers inner wing, found a couple of patches of surface rust so these were cleaned up etch primed then undersealed.

Pretty happy with the result, gonna get the other side done, then will decide what colour to paint them.

Had a trial fitment of wheels on the front, think I should get away with it with a bit of arch rolling and trimming.

Also got the inlet mani cut down ready to mount the throttle bodies.

Collected the votex kit and loads of other parts last night.

Got the engine finally out, all ready to go to its new home in a week or so. Gas and wire turned up for the welder so can get cracking on with smoothing bits and bobs in the bay.

Also after selling my front calipers I tried these for size, not a clue what they're from but took them for payment about 6 years ago and have been sat in the shed ever since, they've got AP on the back of them. Think ill get some 312mm discs and make some adapters to mount them up.
