NOW FOR SALE

basically a mate and i decided one drunken night wed get a trackday car i found this car and within 7 days had a car and trailer sorted, we got our first day booked (abbingdon) and this is our story

ok so first came the car beleive it or not this was a CAT C !!!!! and itd been sat for 3 months and rather than the bloke scrap or break it made a perfect base car to start with

basically that was all the damage a wing and door, luckily no suspension damage and the car already has bigger 288mm grooved and drilled discs and front and rear eibach anti roll bars so it was a great base start

its got 160k but has a really strong engine and had been very well cared for so it seemed a shame to do this but weight counts so it had to been done, rather that than scraped or broken
so it started like this sun morning

and by sun lunch time looked like this

we then found the usual rust spots but they werent that bad but made the plates and welded in the patchs

and got the battered wing off

then we managed to get some old vw bora wheels and painted them to match the mood black look were going for

found a wing and door from a black vr6 (£40  :smug:)

also measured up and cut some bonnet vents

then off came the calipers refurbed them and bought so green stuff pads which will be fitted soon and then painted them red (my mates idea !!!)

and then came the serious weight reduction

got a bit crazy on the rear doors

BEFORE

AFTER

made some good progress today so here goes

got the wheels on but tommorow the coilees are going on so we may just run the 15"s and 5mm spacers but we'll see

then test fitted the strut brace we made, although will need to bend the plates a bit better and hopfully be painting it a funky colour

then fitted the front lip

then fitted some bonnet pins

also sourced some vr6 wheels

then removed the blank light covers and fog lights and made some gauze covers

then cable tied in some duct piping to aid break cooling

then adjusted the rear coilovers and giving it its final ride height and its now starting to look a bit more track ready albeit its very dirty !!!

ok so we finally got all the last few jobs done on the car, and its all ready for friday so we've actually done it

although its still a work in progress and eventually we're going to fit bucket seats, roll cage, harnesses, a nice steering wheel and gearknob but for now hes at a level where we can happily use him on the track.

well the 15th came and the car was ready for its first outting so got him loaded up and off we went

and what a day, the car felt really well setup and i was suprised at just how well the car went and with a virtually faultless day we drove it hard all day and actually kept up (and over took ) with alot more capable cars

some action shoots

and then decided to strip the interior and paint all the inside satin black

Nice work so far

I've got one question. Looks like you removed the rear window regulator and all that stuff. What did you use to keep the windows up. Thinking of doing the same to mine, regulators are shot anyway
