readings from vag-com
« on: 17 November 2011, 11:27 »
hi all i have a 1.8t golf and decided to get some readings from vag-com to see what boost pressure i'm running at, and a rough bhp
on the boost it hold right up to 5000 rpm then starts to drop off it peaked at 14.9 psi.
And on the bhp it is estimated at 205bhp now can this be right with a ko3 turbo.
The mods i have are forge 007p with yellow spring 3 inch down pipe with decat and 2.5 inch powerflow exquast just seems to me a little high for the ko3 turbo on what i have read already. i'm unshore if it has been remapped in its life but i have never done it to it

just when i looked at the readings i thought no that can't be right so took it for a second run and was the same just that read on here that the ko3 will only push up to 180 bhp

depends on how well the engine running, mods etc etc loads on here av k03 with mods and map running close to or running 200bhp ur readings wont be bang on a doubt so best thing to do is get it rolling roaded for a precise reading

How are you calculating it to get the bhp??

2000 GTI 1.8t ARZ, S2000 filter, DSG intake, Forge 007 dv, Catch can, R-tech custom remap, 3" Supersize Silicone TIP, Powerflex dog bone, 'The Beast' FMIC, Ultimate delete, LCR fuel pump, 3" Turbo back, K03 hybrid, Ported Manifold, S3 injectors, 80mm maf = 280bhp 270lbft

you need to take into account losses, through your drive train to get an accurate reading.

as above only rolling road session can give you an accurate reading.

or you can use a formulae to calculate power in Kw
