Right i bought this car back in June of last year. After 1.8 Driver.

It was in quite a state,it had a lot of stickers on it, a huge exhaust, k+n filter, square front number plate, chav steering wheels and gear knob. It had a brand new head on it though.

Not to forget it had a black big bumper on the back, though i had a red one waiting to go on from my old Driver.

So i got it home and took all that crap off (except the exhaust that's still there )

It was looking good.

A few weeks later I disconnected the electric aerial that went up on turn of the ignition (very annoying..) this has now been taken out and replaced with a blanking plate.

Lately i've removed the K + N to be replaced with standard drilled airbox, and replaced the interior so it's all clean and tidy. No bolster issues.

Here's a pic after i removed most of the sh!te.

Pictures from after the small changes, made a big difference:

After running it for a while i noticed there was a problem. Then i discovered the previous owner had removed the thermostat.

Nice.

So after refitting one, it would pee all the water out through the header tank after a quick drive.

Lately i've filled it with new coolant, gave a clean out  and today i've fitted new header tank a cap. Waiting for more coolant to come to fill it up with it and test the thermostat.

Forgot to mention....i've smoked the side repeaters and big bumper indicators and fitted crystal crosshair headlamps.

i'll get a picture of this when she's nice and clean!

I hear you ask "what are my plans?"

Well, i know my next bid spendature will be on wheels, of which i'm undecided at the moment. Probably ATS Cups.

Then after that and exhaust system to replace the horrible one on it at the moment.

Things are slow (i'm only a student on not much money at all) but they're getting done and she's coming along nicely.

Things slowly ground to a halt. to get it through MOT i had to put steel wheels back on with the good tyres. and the standard grill as i need to butcher the wiring for the crystal crosshair lamps to funtion properly.

It got through the MOT after two new front shocks.

Got a huge list of things to do now:

new rad and hoses
oilchange
clutch - in desperate need of changing
tracking (though may wait for new wheels in september)
i want to put electric wondows and central locking on the car but unsure how to go about it TBH.

Lots of stuff to do over the summer....

clutch is being done by a garage tomorow. Another £165 gone!

Still it'll be better, need the tracking done and i'll be quite happy at the moment.

hmm..that wasn't £165 more like £245 as oil was leaking onto the clutch.

anyway, me and my mate are doing the rocker cover gasket saturday, changing a tyre over so alloys can go back on and then the tracking if we have time. Still needs the radiator doing though.

Still no other things to add, had no money, car is costing me a fortune to run. Considering getting a mk4 TDI...

Tim
