VR6 poor performer?
« on: 02 August 2004, 12:52 »
Ladies / gents,
I posted on here ages ago that a mates VR6 is seriously lacking performance. Since then he has changed the coil pack, lambder probe, plugs leads etc. The car pull throught the gears but not as half as well as it should. He has always complained about being able to smell fuel. Today however, he broke down becuase of a proken fuel line. Could this have been causing the lack of performance all these months???
Also when he travels over 90 the abs light comes on but will go out once the ignition is cycled. Any ideas???
I don't often post for other people but it was me that convinced him to by a VW after 10 years of Ford ownership. Now all he does is b!tch about golfs....not good!
Cheers
Tom

I would change the Hall Sensor, loses 20/30bhp straight away if this has gone could explain his lost performance,

First thing he should get it checked on vagcom for any fault codes.
