Title: Bit of a tricky one
Post by: BUTSY GTI on 18 November 2021, 17:16
Bought my mk6 3 weeks ago from an independent garage, noticed a slight rattle/grinding noise on start up, plus it was a bit hesitant when accelerating at times. Took it to an independent garage and it has came back with a list of faults.

Timing chain rattle
Swirl flaps open
Both ball joints
Turbo leaking on to driveshaft.

Big bill for parts and labour

So have went back to where I bought it and they have said they will cancel the finance and take the car back minus my old car as trade in as they sold it.

There is 3 months warranty on the car, should I just cut my ties with the car or chase the warranty and get it fixed up

Well that's the car gone, I'm now GTIless 😫 was a great car, but at the price I paid and the work that needed doing didnt make it appealing to me.
