cheers mate
Regarding engines, theirs so much differences between the engines found in the notmal 20vt cars and then the S3/Cupra R/ Certain TT's
You can easy spot the difference by which side the throttle body is on. On waynes 180bhp, and on all the normal 20vt engines it sites on the left hand side of the inlet manifold
On the high output engines (APY, AMK, BAM) it sits on the right, you also get the bigger K04 turbo on these plus loads of other bits although the APY is not as good as the AMK/BAM.
AMK / BAM have stuff like VVT,
The only difference between the AMK and the Bam engines is the Map on the ECU. Audi wanted the then new out TT to be up on power over the S3 so it was mapped down. later facelift S3 and Cupra R got the Bam too
AMK does have bigger gudgeon pins and is regarded to be the stronger and more sought after (i have this engine in mine
)
take a read here

Here is a pic of a Audi TT with the 180bhp engine as found in the annie and Octavia VRS - notich the engine cover shape and also the throttle body on the left
And hereis my AMK S3 lump, look at engine cover and also throttle body to the right. also notice the charge pipes down the left side of the engine, different shape manifold etc
Very sought after engines hence the price they go for (for a good one)
