Bit more work has been done today in the bodyshop
started taking Bonnet back to bare metal as im having special primer on the whole front end which is Black. its more expensive but is great for hiding any small chips and is also stronger than regular primer



and the bumper has been stripped and prep work started



Car will be back with me for Friday next week (29th july)

Just a question Mate but did you consider deleting the windscreen washer holes and fitting the Mk4 set up?

I'm planning this with mine when it gets repainted just for a cleaner look

Yeah was considered but decided against it. You can quite easily distort the bonnet when welding on it and i want ZERO filler near my bonnet or anyplace else.. been their before and got the t shirt.. filler sinks.. maybe a month or a year but it sinks and moves, and more so on a bonnet

Trying to keep the car absolutly standard GTI spec bodywork, only thing to be welded up is the hole on the wing where the ariel used to be

Other non standard things planned is full stone chipping of the under sills etc which are behind the plastics sill trims and also bumpers
