Shame but I suppose this is what you get for conversion, bit of trial and error.   Well of course it will feel like a rocket, big step up from what it was running before. 

Yeah apparently these MAFs are notorious for failing.. not a cheap fix either but needs must 

Can yours not be cleaned/fixed in some way?

Delaying the inevitable; sometimes cleaning it can kill it instantly

I'm aware that they are super sensitive just wasn't sure if there were any solutions that were worth trying?

As what Rhy's said.. been told to get a new one even if mine was ok and i dont know if or when it was last changed

will have the part tomo so its all good

Side note to anybody with Turbo power... make yourself a boost leak tester and fit a boost gauge

i think im one of them now hahaha.. does give vital info tho the gauge and leaks are always gonna happen at some point

cant wait to fill my VDO holes up when I get on with my interior.  the only gauge it has at the moment is my ear!

not much to see haha, its the guages on the compressor not in the car - shows it holding pressure this is at 25 - 30 psi too, a mapped S3 will boost at about 20 psi so for it to hold any higher is good - means no leaks and no loss of power

Boost leaks are the bain of us Tubby boys existence! Tin of mushrooms, a bottle of chilli sauce and a foot pump is my boost leak pressure test kit And it works!!

Seriously though, my maf on the S-body was shocking... wouldnt let me rev past 4k... cleaned it with some carb cleaner (Carefully!) and im free revving now!

Just an option if it happens again dude!

jonny the golf will make you look a fool.. you will see - we will have a mess about, its stronger further into the gears it goes and thats wiht a broken MAF (which will be fixed tomo 

you should be good in 1st gear with 4WD so somehting is not right their mate
