Rob, the Conversion was not cheap at all.
We could do at about half the price of what mine cost if you was to go with a regulart 20vt engine and minus a few other bits. I just went to town on mine
Mine was expensive because it is the S3 lump which always fetches silly money plus it is super low miles at 40k , It is a superb example of this engine, i even saw it coming out of the donor car, i got the clocks looms, everything on the engine was complete even had the downpipes. plus paperwork with the engine numbers etc on so everything ties up plus the donor car had minimal damage to it so the engine compartment was untouched (always something that is important)
Cost wise mine was quite alot, you are looking at circa 5k (this is what i paid for the parts used and engine itself). I then spent many many man hours cleaning things up and tidy of bay, wiring engine side and behind the dash. manufacture of brackets and others parts at bens work, basically loads and loads of work went into this build that has not been documented on here.
This was no straight swap, but we did it in record time. to a higher standard than IMO what Would have got if i had paid a specialist to do it.
We even matched up any wires that needed extending on the looms etc with Genuine Wire of the same colours etc
Me and ben could do you a conversion if u wanted.. depends what u want but i think you could have 20vt power for around 2.5k mark possibly 3k max
P.S the guy who bought my old lump was having issues with the loom (his was not a 2E to start with) you could always ask him if he wants to sell it ?
