The timing belt replace time was revised by Audi/vw a few years ago to every 3 years or 40k..

The waterpump supplied by vw is a new revised item so they are fine no need to get a metal one..

Go to the dealers for the cambelt kit and waterpump.. And don't forget to make sure you get the tensioner as that also needs to be replaced  :smiley:

i sure i have seen a guy on ed38 selling a sump guard from his vr6 think he wants about £150 for it

Genuine water pump is plastic but a much better / stronger design, I have one fitted.

Personally I wouldn't bother with sump gaurd as said about protecting the standard sump it will only make it lower and increase likely hood off contact.

Shallow sump and oil cooler is the way I would head, could stick the oil cooler ontop of fmic if room allows it otherwise drivers side vent where the smic would of went. Seen some people mod the smic into oil coolers but I am not sure if this is recommended or effective otherwise contact toyosports.

Regarding the camblet kit, the guy at Audi dealer told me it comes in a kit which includes everythign apart from the Damper (what the fook is this? )

ill go for the full Genuine set up

i dont have the equipment to set the timing up so it will be a garage job, they have quited 120 plus vat for labour at my local performance centre who do all my MOT's etc

Plastic water pump saved my nans valves and cambelt when it siezed, stripped the pump but saved the engine.  :smiley:

Where all my moneys went.

The damper he refers to is a hydraulic tensioner you need to save the old one failing.. This will add a bit to your initial price lol

I personally recommend getting one saves it failing in the long run.. Think it might be about £60-70 not sure though

80 plus VAT for S3 engine...

picking up full cambelt kit tomo  :smiley:

water pump im not so sure on yet, seen a uprated version on ebay which is more expensive than the Audi one but is a metal version
