Think I saw something about an S3 lump on facebook though so thought I'd check out your thread

Will never sell the Bora, love it too much. The birds love it cus they think it's a drug dealers car and the lads love it cus it's not a chavved up Mk4

Wouldn't mind another '3. Got insurance quote on a VR, £1300 :/ Would be a long term project though so insurance wouldn't matter for at least a couple of years. Nearly had myself a Polo 6n the other day in exchange for a set of AMG reps I bought for £60  but traded them for £200 cash instead cus a Polos too small for me

Shame really, dads would have been perfect as it already had FK coilovers and a Jetex exhaust but he sold it a couple of months back for £500  Saying that though I think the head gasket was on its way out  I'll post up a pic of the Bora in my thread :)

Quick update before the real work starts on Sunday
As you already know the pedalboxes are different in the early 8v's and aren't possibl to use for the hydro clutch set-up, heres a pic from the engine side of the bulk head through the hole the hydro clutch cylinder would fit

As you can see there is bracket running straight across the hole = TW4T
But, F17BAD's pedalbox is out now -

And the new pedalbox with DBW pedal should be all done by tomorrow morn

Whilst the steering column was out (Gotta come out for pedalbox removal) we decided to upgrade to a newer, adjustable one
New vs old

Stripped em both down

And re-built

Just to be another pain in the arse, the early 8v's had a different brake fluid reservoir, ALL the late models had the same one with a stem off the bottom end for hydro clutch, if on a late 8v it had a sealed end.
The early 8v's didnt have this stem at all, AND, the threads for the solid brake lines were smaller = TW4T
This meant we had to use the original reservoir bracket (the black one for the smaller threads) and the newer reservoir itself (the shiny lookin one with the stem off the side

The UJ boot was completely fooked

so Brad's ordered a new un from VW, £20 with VAT, should be here in the morn.

Thats about it for now kids, expect lots and lots and lots more from Sunday, woop

Good bit of progress there... That last pic looks like what happened to mine, manifold burn.  Make sure the next one is wrapped.

Very quick update before the big work starts on the full rebuild tomorrow..

The ultra rare and hard to find 160 MPH Anniversary dials arrived today (Biggest thanks ever go to Edd for sorting these out for me and helping make this car my perfect MK3)

Within 5 minutes of the postman knocking on the door i had these bad boys in bits, like my other set of annie dials these were the later type with fully soldered and sealed chip LEDS for the displays

Proper pics of thes eat night will come at the end of the build but they are converted and awaiting mileage correction - im so happy i have these because i loved my old annie dials but the 140 mph readout was just not enough for this build

Back to Blue - notice the Chip Leds.. these are the ones that take quite some doing to convert

Here you see the 140 MPH versions next to the 160 MPH versions

Also did the final prep of the bay

got the loom all ready to go back in with Audi S3 ECU

and began to tidy up wires in the car, this is a mid way through shot... many many wires needed to be removed for old sh!t the car has had in its previous life

More to come tomorrow
