You can get shallow sumps with oil pick up, I remember I was thinking of getting one at a point as I thought I was scraping. All I was smacking was the cat shield

All depends how low you are, if its a 40-50mm drop (I'm talking on a mk4, not sure how low the engine would sit in a mk3) then I can't see the point off a shallow sump unless you're silly low.

Think the same. Your car doesn't look that low TBH. All depends if you want to make the car handle sh*t or not and not be able to make use of all that power. if it becomes a problem, you could always change it after.

what are peoples opinion on the shallow sump ?   i want one but i hear they have no provision for a oil level sensor ??

I think you will be fine with a standard sump, try it first and see how low it is.

too low and its unusable at speed anyway, unless the road is dead flat and smooth (i.e. race track). No twisty A/B road action for you

Higher ride height will generate negative scene points though, which is why i lowered mine a touch recently  :lipsrsealed:

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Kells great to see progress mate.. coming along nicely.. i missed out on a BAM lump on the bay everything turbo ancillaries etc for £700

What you could do if your worried about running shallow sump and running less oil etc.. why not just remove standard sump and get it plated up with some heavy duty stainless steel then atleast you know you wont crack the sump and will only take chunks out the plated area.. worth a thought
