small new mod, new led modification iv done, these illuminate the gearstick/cubbyhole are really well without distracting you in the night, similar to what you find in the new BMW's

And tractors since about year 2000.  I think that's a more appropriate comparison to draw.

Although the tractors are far more sophisticated than this old barge.

wont be around much to answer to this post, so please dont think im been ignorant

Nice one on the interior lights. Reminds me of the W8 light mod on mk4s. The same lights are in my mk5 as standard, same shade of red too. They look so cool
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

As for a tractor been more sophisticated, id say one of those could be much more sophisticated than most cars on the road...

Had a slight issue the other night with the rear brakes..

hit a bump in the road at 40mph and the rear brakes locked up, handbrake was jammed on, drivers side rear disc was glowing orange like a Le Mans 24HR car , and the amount of smoke that was coming off it i thought the car was gonna set up in flames

Second mare of the night was the car not fitting on the tow truck greenflag sent, which was annoying because they told me the name of the garage who were going to recover me, and i know only one of their trucks fits my car on due to how low it is.. Anyhow long story short they came in a regular tow truck, i couldn’t be arsed to f**k about so I removed the lower splitter and all was good

Myself and Ben (Ben victors off here) inspected the car the morning after to find this on the rear passenger side

Spot the problem....

(for those less blessed amongst us the calliper should sit at around the 1 o clock position)

Also the sh!t guard that sits on the hub was like this

The reason???  Well the bolts which hold the calliper on the hub were gone!!!!  No damage, no fecked threrads, just complete gone as tho they had been removed; now i know these were super tight as i hammered them on a few month back...They are the 2 Allen key bolts.

I also had a overheated problem due to a frozen RAD on the night we had a -12 temp... this was the nail in the coffin for my already leaking radiator....cracked...big time

So we  fitted a new one, no pics of the new on but here is the car in prep for removal of old unit, we managed to remove/replace with the slam panel in situ which was a bonus, refilled the system with 50/50 mix of VW G12 Plus, and fitted a new heater resistor..

car heater/coolant system runs like a charm as do the breaks, we were lucky enough not to have warped a disc, one of the pads was destroyed so we changed those out for a new set

Last thing done was wiring in my puddle lights in my doors, we did Bens car too, this is a cool mod

trip to the car grave yard to find a MK4...

and here they are, these are lit, bright so hard to get a decent pic but you get the idea, basically just like on a mk4 gti

As Wayne said.

I absolutely f**king hate Loctite but this is why I force myself to use it.

Can't really think why else it would have happened. :undecided:

Very strange.

It's impossible to get to them without removing the car/jacking them up really, isn't it?  :undecided:

Lucky though!

How comes it froze? Topping it up with water?

Good results all roundish I guess.
