I think you should invest in a brake light spoiler like Spadys.

OEM VW.

i know what you are saying but just want to leave the original period spoiler in place, did have the highline colour coded item to go on but changed the old mind at the last min 

also not a huge fan of break lights in spoilers,  but thats just my personal opinion

+1 don't think they look right to be honest.

Also a pet hate of mine is MK3 brake lights, they look like tailights.
