Mk5 golf help needed please

Anybody had same issue and resolved ?

I have a 08 mk5 golf gt sport tdi 140.       
Owned this car for 5 yrs hassle free.     
Last month as I was driving car it just cut out and rolled to a stop, I tried starting and just cranked over and over and wouldn’t start.   
I called out the trustworthy AA and fuel pump was checked and then told me it was timing. Towed to garage and was told by mechanic timing was spot on and was crank sensor.      It’s been running fine then same thing happened today.    Just cut out and rolled to stop.
Turns over and will not fire up ??    I’ve checked fuses and all good 🤬🤔🤔🤔🤔

I think your Garage has already given you the answer and it does sound like it could be from your discription but its hard to tell these things over the internet

The crank sensor's role is managing ignition timing and fuel injection which is crucial, and when these processes are disrupted, it can lead to inefficient combustion and stress on various engine parts. Poor performance. A car with a bad sensor might experience rough idling, prolonged cranking, or may not start at all.

Crank sensor was changed and timing looked at by garage which is spot on but it’s done the same again after a couple of weeks.

You often find these things happen when 3rd party (euro car parts) parts are used.
In my experience, when it comes to sensors and such, only use OEM.

Would be worth double checking if this was the case, if OEM parts were used, then I would start looking at the loom to it.

Bought a Bosch one and fitted today.    Still no good.

Fuel pump relay is my guess
