update coming after weekend as i now have my newly rebuilt bespoke 02J gearbox back from Hotgolf fitted with the Wavetrac Limited slip diff plus VR6 final drive

just painted it and its looking seriously

we are fitting a new Rear Axle with Powerflex bushes wednesday nite

and then onto the Gearbox sunday, along with the gearbox I'm going to be fitting the Mk4 Gear shift cables which will need modification to fit mk3 chassis and also hope to fit the MK4 2.0 GTI Driveshafts as i have a very near mint pair and they are better than the mk3 items
Also Got Hotgolf to Lighten and Balance a Flywheel for me too 


will update with all the pics etc when its done, Hotgolf kindly got pics of the gearbox rebuild too..

been offered a Genuine MTM 330 Turbo kit

im not decided if to go down this route or not just yet, but ill consider selling my full K04 set up (45k miles only) (everything needed to bolt to anoter 1.8T apart from my downpipe) for £500

Gearbox is ready to go in, I'm very pleased with results

got this back from Hotgolf, he is a absolute legend, i will do a full write up and review of this box and his work once i get the car on the road again

till then here are the pics of the box

















He also sorted me a lightened and balanced Flywheel to suit The Turbo motor




And then once received back in Leeds, i set about painting it and fitting all new VW bolts etc, and a Audi TT short shift





Just have the end cap bolts to replace with new ones, then everything on and inside this box is new !

This will be going in the car tomorrow all been well, along with the MK4 gear linkages ad MK4 driveshafts (if they will fit)

will report ten with loads of pics

bought this-  Genuine VAG approved MTM Big Turbo kits, witht he K24 from a RS2 (rated up to 360bhp)

full kit... 

this will have cost the original over around £6200!!!!!

its now mine, fully rebuilt turbo with zero miles on it, has absolutely everything with it, however ill be having my own custom map done and not using the MTM mapped ECU thats with the kit









Car is gonna be bad ass

just want to Strengthen the Con rods before i fit the Turbo kit just to be on the safe side

i forgot to mention the final Drive has been replaced with a VR6 item also, so now the gets will be slightly longer.

a lot of power going through this, and a lot more to come so ill be making full use of that wavetrac diff
